A Question of Trusts

The NHS staff we have met in this journey have all been amazing, but the same can’t be said of the computer systems. Three hospitals have been involved in David’s care this week. Thankfully, Mount Vernon and the Lister are in the same NHS Trust, but if you add West Herts into the equation it becomes quite chaotic. Billions of pounds have been wasted over the years on upgrading, which saddens and angers me. 

Mount Vernon called David on Thursday. They are very considerate, involving me in discussions and asking my thoughts. He has been told to heal first, so the drug treatment is still on hold. This does cause me concern, but I completely trust their decisions. Friday saw another dressing change at the Lister. The extraction of excess fluid means that his leg is no longer as swollen, so he is more comfortable.
