The Angry Mole

There once lived a mole on the back of a leg in a place that could not easily be seen. The mole lay dormant for many years, but slowly it began to change. The owner of the leg loved to play golf and went out on the sunniest of days, wearing shorts that exposed the mole to the dangers of ultraviolet rays. The problem with moles is that they can become angry and cause havoc of which you can be unaware. But they are not as clever as they think they are, so watch out for changes and take care!

This is an account of my husband, David’s, melanoma journey. I hope that by sharing it we can make others more aware of the dangers that the sun can bring. Only 20-30% of melanomas, the most dangerous type of skin cancer, develop from existing moles, so please read his story and stay safe in the sun.
