It’s now three months since all the lymph nodes were removed from the groin area at the top of David’s left leg. Neither of us had anticipated that recovery from the surgery would take this long, and we still feel that there is a long way to go. The vacuum assisted therapy pump, which was fitted last Friday, appears to be doing an amazing job, although I wouldn’t recommend looking at what’s coming out of his leg! The circumference of his thigh now measure 3.5 inches less than it did before the operation. The pump is quite noisy, and every so often it makes a loud farting sound (or at least that’s what David says!). Tomorrow we have an appointment to discuss the results of his routine bowel screening scan; hopefully he won’t have to wait too long for the colonoscopy.
